About the event
DLRC Exploratory is a signature program facilitated by the DLRC Facilitating community for the larger community to ignite the love for learning in an explorative process. In PhysMath Series DLRC Facilitators Pavan Iyengar and Shivaji Mane will conduct an introductory workshop both on campus and online. This marks the beginning of a series of activity based workshops on physics concepts covered in across all school syllabi. These workshops aim to help children understand various concepts such as measurement, properties of matter, motion, sound, optics, electricity, gravity, magnetism etc. The first session is going to be on measuring everyday use items by making our own tools with a paper. Materials needed: 1 A4 Sheet of paper (lets reuse) Scissor Pen Refill Geometry box & Notebook About the Facilitators: Pavan, co-Founder of DLRC, makes science exciting through concepts from “Toys from Trash” learnt with Arvind Gupta at IUCCA in SPPU. Pavan holds a Masters degree in Physics from Pune University and Bachelors degree in Physics from Fergusson College. He has worked in top research labs in Pune (SPPU,IUCAA,NCRA-TIFR) and Bengaluru (RRI). He was a Project Fellow at IISER Pune, implementing independent research project that looks into the Energy Transfer in Photosynthesis. Trained in Astro Physics & Quantum Field Theory he sees everything as a Physics Interaction. Shivaji has been working under the tutelage of Mr. Arvind Gupta. Shivaji is an expert at creating hands-on experiences integrated with other subjects at DLRC. He coordinates the ‘Tinkering Lab’ on campus for all grades. He facilitates experimental experiences in Physics, Maths at DLRC.
For children: Grade 7 and above Workshop charges: Rs 250/-
