Beginnings, Endings and In-Betweens
In my end is my beginning. -TS Eliot, East Coker I’m starting this blog with a line from the poem East Coker by TS Eliot. I don’t want to get into the nuances of his literature — partly because I don’t understand it fully — but this line seems relevant to me. When we think of beginnings and endings, they are always seen as opposites — one opens the door, and the other closes it. This is what gives us clarity, certainty.

Our Own Stars: Animals on Campus
If you’ve been to DLRC even once, you know them. They are funny, lovable, and chaotic. Everyone loves them—kids, teachers, random visitors—nobody is immune. I’m talking about our campus dogs, Jacko and Raja. Jacko is… special. He’s white, with brown patches all over his furry body. He’s an old, gentle soul who is fuelled entirely by belly rubs. Once you start petting him, you physically cannot stop because of the puppy eyes he gives. One time, he absolutely reeked of paneer g

Horizon: Recalling a Magical Evening
Some evenings feel special even while they’re happening, and Horizon — DLRC’s musical — was exactly like that. My day started off pretty casually on November 21, 2025. I went to my friend’s house in the afternoon so we could get ready together, but the moment I stepped into Horizon around 5:30 pm, everything shifted. The entire ground was covered in a hazy golden glow from the setting sun, as if it were a warm, glowing filter. The ambience was honestly perfect, but what made

The Effects of Violent Media and Cinema on Mental Health and Behaviour
In today’s day and age, all of us are constantly surrounded by the media, often with little separation between entertainment and reality. What was once available solely in movie theatres or upon purchase can now be accessed on our personal devices at all times. Due to the widespread availability of content, understanding its influence on our mental health and behaviour is now more relevant than ever, especially for students and parents who use electronic devices on a daily ba

Living a Double Life: What is it like to be a Student Athlete?
Playing sports has been a constant in my life so far. For the past year, I have been playing Ultimate Frisbee, a sport where I have observed immense young talent. However, be it abroad or in India, the limiting traits of this emerging sport make it hard for players to commit to it professionally. In India, most players come from humble backgrounds, and cannot fathom a future where their primary income comes from this sport. Further, there is an excessive number of amateurs c

How DLRC's College Dialogue Programme Has Helped Me
From childhood, I’ve probably gone through at least 50 different dream careers. One day I was convinced I’d become a psychologist; the next I was sure I’d be working in a lab as a microbiologist. So naturally, trying to figure out what I actually want to study — and which college I should work toward — has always felt overwhelming. But luckily, from November 3rd to December 1st, DLRC hosted a College Dialogue Programme for all of us in Grade 11, and honestly, it ended up help

The correct way to use AI in academics
Most of us have used ChatGPT for homework at least once. Maybe the deadline was way too close, or maybe we were just tired and didn’t feel like dealing with another worksheet. And sure, we know that letting AI (Artificial Intelligence) write everything for us isn’t exactly the most ethical choice. But whether we like it or not, AI has become a huge part of our lives now — so figuring out how to use it the right way is pretty important. One of the best ways to use AI is to mak

Does Music help or hinder your studying?
I spend a dangerous amount of time listening to music, so I started wondering — is it only a pastime or can it actually be productive and help me academically? So, I started reading articles and posts about whether it is harmful or helpful — especially while studying. I realised that the conclusion is not black or white, but rather a false dichotomy, when really, it depends on a spectrum of factors that affect different people differently. I came across very interesting posts

How AI is being used in Sports
Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a newly introduced developing, learning and adaptive technology in our lives. We may use it to do many common things for work or school, but AI is also being used in so many industries other than education. For instance, sports — as surprising as that might sound! In basketball, a torn Achilles is a common injury that occurs, and this leads to many star players getting sidelined for months. The NBA (National Basketball Association) has now come

When Fear Wears Fur: A Stray Dog's Thoughts
Last night, I heard some humans talking. Their little glowing boxes showed pictures of dogs like me being put inside big, scary vans. Humans crying because the dogs they fed every day were suddenly gone. I didn't understand why. We were just living here, on the same street we always lived on, the small one near the market in a little part of Pune, where the air always smells like biscuits and smoke from tea stalls and food trucks. W
