(2025-26)

Garv Salgia from Grade 12 received the Cambridge Outstanding Learner Award for the June 2025 series, achieving Top in India in Cambridge International AS Level Biology. This award recognises his exceptional academic performance, deep understanding of biology concepts, and consistent dedication to learning.

Anu Jain from Grade 12 received the Cambridge Outstanding Learner Award for the June 2025 series, achieving Top in India in Cambridge International AS Level Environmental Management. This award recognises her exceptional grasp of environmental concepts, analytical skills, and outstanding academic dedication.

Grade 3 students Preksha Suryawanshi, Ira Pillai, and Aria Bhandare of Pamtoes Ballet Academy were selected to perform in the annual ballet showcase featuring the classical production of Cinderella. The production highlighted their technical skill, stage presence, and discipline in classical ballet through a professionally choreographed performance.

Arnav Ghate from Grade 7 achieved notable recognition in music competitions: बाल संगीत महोत्सव at Dr. Kalmadi Shamrao High School – secured Second Prize, प्राचीन ललित कला प्रबोधिनी राज्यस्तरीय कुमार शास्त्रीय गायन स्पर्धा महोत्सव – received a Consolation Prize. These accomplishments reflect his talent, dedication, and growing skills in classical music.

At the annual Pune Climate Warriors (PCW) event on 17–18th January, DLRC showcased eco-friendly and sustainable practices from our EVLF, Sports, and Art curriculum. From a solar dehydrator made in the Design Lab to workshops led by students as young as Transition and Grades 1–3, the DLRC stall was buzzing with activity. We won Most Creative Stall, Ek Kadam Aage, and Third Prize in Music, thanks to the EVLF team and supportive parents!

DLRC hosted its annual Learning Fair on 22nd and 24th January, alongside the Art Festival showcasing stunning exhibits from all grades. Each subject, from English and Numeracy to Art, Design Lab, Farming, and Sports, featured student-designed projects and games, with visitors from 10 Pune schools exploring the fair. Facilitators also led ‘Chai and Why’ sessions for educators, sharing best practices, as nearly 700 people visited the campus over the two days.

Manya Goyal from Grade 6 has been learning the keyboard for the past four years and successfully cleared the Trinity College London Electronic Keyboard Grade 2 examination in September 2025. She performed three pieces: Scotland the Brave (Traditional), Eine Kleine Nachtmusik (Mozart), and Air from Water Music (Handel), achieving a score of 70 out of 100. Alongside her exam preparations, she has also begun composing her own songs, further nurturing her passion for music.

Kush Shetty from Transition B participated in the annual State Karate Championship organised by Bharat Karate Academy, Maharashtra, on November 16th, 2025. He earned a Silver Medal in Kumite and a Bronze Medal in Kata in the under-6 years category, showcasing his skill, discipline, and sportsmanship at a young age.

Noor Mihir Shah from Transition A secured First Place in Pune City for chanting shlokas from Chapter 15 at the Geeta Chanting Competition, organised by Chinmaya Mission, Pune on 2nd November 2025. His achievement reflects dedication, consistent practice, and a deep understanding of the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita.

Rayan Thyagarajan from Grade 5 was awarded Best Goalkeeper of the Tournament 2025 (Under-13) at the Field of Dreams Football Tournament held at DLRC. His outstanding reflexes and consistency on the field played a key role in his team’s performance, showcasing his dedication, discipline, and passion for football. 

Preksha Suryawanshi, Grade 3, attended a naturalist training workshop at BNHS, Mumbai during June–July 2025 and December 2025–January 2026. The workshop combined classroom learning with hands-on outdoor activities such as nature trails, bird watching, night walks, and camera trap studies. It enhanced her observation, communication, leadership skills, and deepened her understanding of ecology, wildlife, and nature conservation.

On September 29th, the DLRC campus hosted a Student Parliament with six teams from schools across the city, organised by Social Studies facilitators Katha and Leshini, along with Grade 12 students Sifar Jirgale and Mihit Mundada. The discussion centred on The Slum Area Development Bill, offering participants hands-on experience in law-making through debate and discussion. The team from City Pride School, Nigdi, won the event—congratulations!

On September 20th, the DLRC campus hosted a vibrant community chess tournament with 50 participants competing across four categories — U-10, U-14, U-18, and Open — in the fast-paced Blitz format. The event showcased intense focus, strategy, and sportsmanship, with winners receiving trophies, certificates, goodie bags, millet protein bars, and fruits. 

DLRC celebrated Sports Week from October 7th to 10th, with students competing enthusiastically in grade-wise events. Divided into four houses—Shivaji Maharaj, Maharana Pratap, Rani Laxmibai, and Rani Tarabai—students showcased great energy and sportsmanship across multiple games. We were honoured to host chief guests Krishnakumar Rane and Shakuntala Khatavkar, and after a spirited contest, Shivaji Maharaj House emerged as the winners.

The DLRC campus buzzed with energy during the Field of Dreams Football Tournament held on 6th December from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. With 19 teams competing across Under 9, 11, 13, and 15 categories, the event brought together teams from across Pune to promote sportsmanship, fitness, and community spirit. We are proud to announce that the DLRC team won the Under 13 championship—congratulations!

DLRC, in collaboration with the NGO Hum Dekhenge, organised a film festival on December 13th, 2025, with over 350 students from 15 schools across Pune participating.

Students watched age-appropriate films, 

including the student-made Karmabhoomi

by Luv Auji and Hijabi Hacker by Iqra Shaikh, 

and engaged in artivism, media literacy 

workshops, and a student art exhibition, 

creatively exploring social realities. 

Aarya Aigalikar, facilitator at DLRC, secured 2nd Rank at the Classical Voice of India 2025, a national-level competition held in Lucknow, in the Senior Category (Indian Classical Vocal). The Classical Voice of India is a prestigious national platform that recognises excellence in Indian classical vocal music, judging participants on raga presentation, technique, voice control, and musical expression.

Advik Jathar, Grade 3, cleared Trinity Drums Initial Exam and the Theory of Music Exam with Merit. The Trinity Exam is an internationally recognised music assessment by Trinity College London that evaluates music skills, rhythm, coordination, and musical understanding through performance and technical exercises.

Mangesh Bhalerao, sports facilitator, successfully completed two major marathons: the Pune to Baramati Ultra Marathon (100 km), showcasing exceptional endurance, discipline, and mental strength, and the Federal Bank Pune Marathon (42 km), reflecting consistent training, physical fitness, and perseverance. These achievements highlight his dedication, resilience, and commitment to pushing personal limits. He also successfully completed the Certificate Course in Chemical Taping through Physioneeds Academy, London (United Kingdom). This course enhanced his professional expertise in sports injury prevention and rehabilitation, strengthening his skills to support athletes effectively.
