Isn't a combination of physical exercise, mental relaxation, and affirming words a great way to start the day? Well, Grade 2 students start their day like this through Workout Wednesdays every week during their morning circle. Their homerooms guide them to do some stretching, yoga, and breathing exercises. This week, the students chanted affirmations like “I am brave”, “I am loved”, and “I am enough.” Engaging in activities like these at the start of a new day helps improve mood and focus, boosts energy, and enhances mental clarity.

Spotlight

The Pustakanchi Waari celebrations on July 12th was everything DLRC stands for — cultural immersion, experiential education, nuanced thought and of course, FUN. Every grade, from Transition to 12, participated in the event. The highlight was the Iyer family’s musical rendition of a bhajan. The facilitators, too, joined in with a spirited lezim performance. As the students of Grade 12 danced their hearts out to a gondhal song and joined Grade 10 students in carrying the palanquin with books around the campus, everyone watching was swept away by a powerful sense of oneness and belonging. The farm, which is under the helm of the EVLF team, was officially inaugurated with the blessings of the DLRC community. Thankfully, the rain gods decided to stay away and let the rangoli across campus be!

Students enrolled in the Crochet and Needlework Enrichment Club created charming crochet bags as well as handcrafted embroidery. This was more than just crafting — it became a lesson in focus and mindfulness. As students engage with the delicate art of embroidery, they immerse themselves in the process, strengthening their concentration and sense of calm. It’s inspiring to see how these timeless skills weave beauty, well-being, and attention into our learners’ everyday lives.

Social Studies facilitators of Grade 7 actively encourage the students to engage with their environment. In this class, the learning about the different features of clouds took a hands-on approach, as students observed the clouds in the sky and talked about how different cloud covers affect the weather. The students could also connect their learning to the monsoon patterns of the country.
