DLRC witnessed a truly heartwarming afternoon on the 27th of June, 2025, when around 40 of our beloved alumni returned to campus to meet and interact with the current students.
The high school cohort gathered in the amphitheatre, seated on the stairs, buzzing with anticipation. I was nestled between my friends, laughing about something and lost in my doodles, when a sudden round of applause made me look up — the alumni had arrived!
My first thought was how effortlessly cool they looked, and I couldn’t help but imagine myself walking in like that a few years from now. It was obvious that they were genuinely happy to be back.

Grades 9 to 12 at the amphitheatre, awaiting the arrival of the alumni
Once they settled down, the alumni began introducing themselves. I could hear the murmur of appreciation as we listened to the paths they had taken — from astrophysics to graphic design. I was in awe when I listened to how much they had already accomplished at their age.Soon, the floor was open for the students to ask questions. We asked about everything — from the CUET (Common University Entrance Test) experience and the benefits of taking a gap year, to subject choices for A Levels, portfolio-building, and student life in college. The alumni offered relatable advice that helped us all, such as the importance of balancing your timetable and tips and tricks for each subject. One message that stuck with me was this: anything is possible if you put your mind to it, work hard, and never limit yourself. Hearing this from our seniors who are now in top colleges was really inspiring.

Alumni taking questions from the audience
After the session, I spoke to a few alumni individually. Surbhi, who graduated in 2019 and was the 46th student at DLRC, fondly said, ‘I remember when the amphi was just red mud! I remember helping build it.’ She added, ‘The application-based thinking I developed here really helped me, both in college and work. It also helped with my confidence.’ When I asked her what advice she could give to current DLRC students, she replied, ‘Really capitalise on the curiosity they foster here and make the most of the incredible resources and facilitators at DLRC.’

Alumni at Khel Maidan
Next, I spoke to Arth who graduated in 2025. He said, ‘I have been here since the first batch and I have seen DLRC grow. I really love the environment here! The student-teacher interactions and the human skills cultivated at DLRC helped me become a better version of myself. My advice for students is to play hard and work harder.’

Our alumni on the map
The alumni had lunch in the Grade 11 classroom. They also went to Khel Maidan and played team bonding games. To mark their space in the world, the alumni participated in an innovative art activity — literally ‘nailing’ their current location on the beautiful global map created by the Art team.
Looking back, I feel like this event truly captured the essence of DLRC — the deep connection among its people, the joy of learning, and the ever-present thirst for knowledge.
